Rejects.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Some art just has to get rejected. Problem is, I kind of liked these.

Generally, I don’t like when a writer uses something like a quill pen or an old Corona typewriter on a business card unless, of course, they actually use them. But most writers these days use a computer. And let me just tell you, computers aren’t particularly attractive. So I did do one design with a fountain pen theme and it turned out to be my favorite. But it still got rejected.


Sigh. Sorry, little rejects. Maybe some other time.

All Business, All the time.

Sometimes I get asked to design business cards and I really do enjoy that. I like trying to condense an idea into a very small space. I try to convey the personality of the person or the feel of their website, and I think I am reasonably successful. Here are a few cards I’ve designed. Some have been used, some are “rejects” (awww, poor things) and some I am kind of holding onto for another day. Funny how everyone seems to have the same phone number and email....
