Lady Edith got a bum deal.
I always felt kind of bad for Lady Edith. Sure, she was kind of a milquetoast and she did whine a lot. But she also was just the tiniest bit of a badass.
A new print for SDCC 2016. More to come.

Tattoo You.
I am a big fan of GOOD tattoos. I am not saying I design good tattoos nor am I saying that all tattoos are good. Heck, I don’t even have a tattoo, I am too chicken. But I like me some tattoos and some tattoo flash and whatever other tattoo words I can sling around here.
Most notably, I am a fan of the work of a man called “Sailor Jerry.” I am pretty sure that if you have seen his work, it’s everywhere these days. I can't tell exactly why I like it. It’s a really unique blend of crudeness and sophistication. Of simple lines conveying interesting ideas. Sexy girls and cheeky monkeys. I don’t know. But it appeals to me on a lot of levels.
Some years ago, I wanted to draw something that was kind of a nod to the Sailor Jerry style, and I made my first nerdy girl tattoo...no one is tattooed with this, it's just my little homage to an artist I like. But, in truth, it didn't work for me. So I polished it up and ended up with the second image, which I’ve used for several years on jewelry, shirt and bags. It’s getting to be time for a new design, maybe I should go back to my old inspiration and revisit my concept.

Back!
Oops. Got a little sidetracked by life there. Sorry! But I am back...from outer space...you just walked in to find me here with that...wait...no...
Well, since I took the week (or so) off I am making up for it by posting a few different things. First up, a rough for my cupcake book.
I am actually not that big a carrot cake fan, but if my carrot cake was delivered by a tiny fluffy bunny, I might change my mind.
Next...
I told myself that I would get a tattoo for my birthday, but I chickened out. Maybe next year. Until then, a very old image, the first of my nekkid ladies, actually. She sports part of the tattoo I have designed for myself...but I am too chicken to get...
And, as a matter of fact, she was an old “Illustration Friday” piece for the theme “Fresh”. She is titled Fresh (Ink).
Speaking of fresh. I did a quick design for a contest a while back. I was attempting to win a year of groceries from Fresh & Easy. To be honest, I think my concept was cute but I didn’t spend enough time on it. When I saw the winning designs I realized that I was so far off the mark of what they were interested in as to be ridiculous. Ah well.

That’s enough for now. Back soon!
