I am pretty sure that I saw "E.T." ten times. It was pretty much the only movie that played that summer. I didn't mind. I liked it.

You are a wonder.
I can’t say that I am the biggest fan of motivational posters, or motivational speakers or motivational...stuff. But I do feel like, every once in a while, we all need an “atta-girl” from someone else. It’s always nice to know that your back is covered. And lately I’ve been feeling that the ladies of this world need to know how wonderful they are. So here, let me just tell you, you are a wonder, woman.

Love.
One of my all time favorites. The character and the art. I'm kind of stupidly proud and pleased with this one so go ahead a cue the fall now...because well all know what comes before the fall...summer.
Ah, Hellboy...I love you so. (I love when I go to label a post and the word is already in the archive...how odd that I’ve mentioned Hellboy before. HA!)

Catty.
Big faces. That’s what seems to be going on here. Remind me to show the Harley Quinn and Joker faces sometime, ok. Until I do...

Shhh...
I don’t think I ever posted the finished Silence print...and this is not that. Turns out, it’s hidden away somewhere, and this is the almost finished version. Which I am posting so that you will be delighted and surprised when you see the final product...well, if you do. I mean, yeah, this is pretty close...it’s almost the same, but you should totally come see the actual print next time you are at San Diego Comic Con, or some other place I might be, hanging out, selling things.
Because I am a dork, I always feel the need to tell people why I drew this. See, the Silence doesn’t really have a mouth, and how sad must it be to have mint chocolate chip ice cream but no way to eat it? Pretty sad, I’m guessing...pretty sad.

Two nerds and a dork.
I really like making buttons and badges. And it seems that people really like buying them. They are usually one of the things that sells out at conventions. It would seem that people really like their labels. They like to tell the world that they are nerds, dorks and geeks. And I can't say I blame them. I am a proud nerdy girl, and I often wear the badge to prove it.

Winter is coming.
First off, let me apologize. I can think of maybe three people who will get this joke. Two of them might think it’s funny. As for the rest of you...I am so very sorry.
I’ve been taking a little break from drawing in Illustrator because I feel like I really need to learn how to sketch properly. But...well, that doesn't make me want to draw. I bought some books, I bought a stylus. I have tons of sketchbooks, but when you take my beloved Illustrator away I am a sad little bunny.
And then I started reading A Clash of Kings, by George R. R. Martin.
And then I had this idea that I thought was funny, like stupid goofy funny:
But other people have had much better ideas of how to use those name tags.
So then, I thought this was funny.
And yeah, I know that it’s not skewed properly, I slapped it together while I still found it funny. And yeah, I know it’s totally stupid. But sometimes... I totally crack myself up.
Dork.

Lambs are Precious...my Precious.
This morning I was watching this video:
...and I thought, “I should totally draw some lambs.” And then I remember that I had drawn at least ONE lamb a while back.
...and I thought, “I should totally draw some lambs.” And then I remember that I had drawn at least ONE lamb a while back.
This was for my first little “zine” sort of booklet...extended greeting card...thingy. It was a collection of illustrations of “pet names.” Not the actual names of pets, but the kind of sweet nicknames we give to one another, our kids, our...pets. Whatever. It’s a lamb. Because lambs are kind of cute.
But I earned some real nerd cred when I added an illustration “precious.”
Yeah, I’m a dork and yes, I have a cat named Mithril. But in my defense, I didn’t name her. But it was totally her name that attracted me. Dork.
That one lamb that looks directly at the camera and yells cracks me up.

Messing around with Hellboy.
I kinda love Hellboy. Like, I’ve picked out our wedding bands kind of love. Oh, it’s serious...for a fictional character, anyway.
