It‘s beginning to look a lot like...oh...wait...

I did some new Christmas cards this year...well...last year. They are some of my new favorites.

I particularly like this one because I am a terrible procrastinator.
These are actually made to be sent out AFTER Christmas.

And the kitties? Well...c'mon...KITTIES!

If you find yourself in need of either very late or extremely early Christmas cards, you can find mine with the paper lotus design group on etsy.

Happy Hanukkah...Chanukkah...Hanukkah...HAPPY FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS!

A few years ago I noticed a lack of holiday cards for blended families. I know a lot of people who celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah, but if they wanted to send a card, they had to either write one holiday in a card meant for the other, or send two cards. So confusing. So there’s this. And look, the menorah creates the roots for the Christmas tree. Because Judaism is the root system of Christianity. Clever, eh?

Happy Whatever to you, whoever you are and however you celebrate. Peace on Earth. We kind of  need it.

Happy Christmas 2011.

For the past ten years or so, I’ve made a Christmas/winter music mix as a kind of Christmas card for friends. Every year I think I am out of new music or that people aren’t interested and then someone asks when it’s coming and I get all giddy. I love Christmas music, secular or religious, happy or sad, i like it all. Holiday music, or really just “winter” music. And I make a cd cover for the mix. Almost every year I draw a snowman (there was at least one year, an early one, where it was a tree...oh and a few years ago it was a cardinal) but this year i wanted something different. So here. Happy Christmas. I’d give you the music too, but I can’t quite figure out the best way to do it. Spotify is refusing to play nice and I’ve really got to go. Presents to wrap and all that. Hope you have a happy and safe whatever you chose to celebrate!

The last snowman of 2010.

Well, he was the last for 2010, but the first posted in 2011. The cover for this year’s Christmas mix for friends and family. I thought it was a pretty good mix but got complaints of  “drunken hobo” and “broken toy piano” music from...certain people. Personally, I really like Tom Waits and R.E.M. So there.

Peace Snowman.

Ah, the slightly happier brother of yesterday’s snowman! Again, old skool from about 2006.

Mod Tree.

An attempt at something new sometimes makes for something...new. I rather like this simple, pop-arty little tree. It’s made me really want to revisit the concept and do a whole line of mod images...well...when I have time, that is.

Snowman, snowman.

I draw a lot of snowmen. It’s something of a tradition. They are...simple. And yet they can be very expressive. OK, this one isn’t THAT expressive, but he’s still kinda cute.

Merry Kissmas #2.

Slightly less creepy? Last year’s Christmas cd cover and the most dressed of the nerdy girls.

Merry Kissmas #1.

To be honest, she’s a little bit creepy. But that’s why I love her so much.

Happy Hanukkah!

I almost forgot. Working on a card for mixed religion greetings. It kind of works on two levels, if you think about it...
